About Paranormal Ponderings

Hello, I’m Patricia. Welcome to my website.

Some people call them paranormal.  Some call them supernatural.  Some call them mystic or metaphysical.  Some people call them exceptional human experiences or spiritually transformative experiences (I like that one.)

Whatever the label, I, like many others have experienced a number of strange phenomena during my lifetime.  As a matter of fact, my very first memory is being saved by invisible hands from a fall down an entire staircase.

Throughout what has been a pretty normal work-a-day life, the memories of these events have stood out, lending themselves to frequent thought and speculation.  They have created in me a burning desire to discuss, compare and understand them.   I have a strong and persistent sense that we have something to learn from these non-ordinary experiences.

As a consequence of this, I have read just about anything I could get my hands on if it touched on the similar experiences of others.  I’m not special.  I know that these things happen to ordinary people every day.  We get a glimpse.  A glimpse of something or somewhere else.

All of my experiences have been fleeting.  For the most part they have not been scary or negative in any way. I have heard the accounts of many that were terrifying. Some people have an endured a season in hell, while I’ve been treated to a game of Peek-a-Boo Paranormal!

I am at the point where these phenomena are simply part of the fabric of life.  I try very hard not to put a “spin” on them.  Not a religious one.  Not a spiritual one.  Not a scientific one.  I think that from this side of things, we have had so many principles, doctrines and convictions visited on us, that an already muddy water is muddier still.  This is the ocean we swim in so it’s hard at times to rise above these things but I do try.

My experiences have been documented in my book: Paranormal Ponderings – A Memoir. My book is available on Amazon but there is also a free PDF version on this website for download.

As an experiencer of childhood trauma, I am very interested in how this plays into experiencing the paranormal. Does trauma open a door that might otherwise be closed?

I am very interested in this connection and where the threads intersect. I am also interested in how those who were negatively affected by the paranormal cope with their particular brand of post-traumatic stress. I have worked as a counselor and spent time with individuals and their families in matters where trauma played a key role. I would like to help experiencers navigate the after-effects of a negative paranormal experience. I see this as a markedly underserved community.

Does the paranormal step in and out of your life? I hope you will join the discussion.
